 锰砂滤料外观呈黑褐色，近圆形，采用优质天然锰矿石加工而成，经水洗打磨除杂、破碎、干燥、磁选、筛分、除尘等工艺加工成砂，再把加工好的锰砂按一定的级配调合而成。锰砂滤料主要成份是二氧化锰，含量在35%-45%之间，是晶粒致密、机械强度大、化学活性强、不易破碎、不溶于水的天然锰矿砂，对于地下水除铁、除锰过滤有独特的效果。
【应用】
天然锰砂除铁是一种接触催化除铁工艺，适合于地下水含铁量小于20mg/l的除铁。天然锰砂中含的高价锰能将水中的二价铁氧化成三价铁，同时在表面形成有催化作用的“活性滤膜”，进一步提高了除铁效果。含铁水经曝气后，只经天然锰砂一次过滤，就能完成全部除铁过程。
